With the release of “TOP GUN Maverick,” there is renewed attention on the famed Navy Fighter Weapons School. In 1982, The Hook featured TOPGUN, then at NAS Miramar. The CO at the time was CDR (later RADM) Ernie Christensen, Jr., who was the first third-generation Naval Aviator following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Chief Machinist Rasmus Christiansen, and father RADM Ernie Christensen.
