Plotting the Future of the Naval Aviation News Magazine

Naval Aviation News, the oldest publication in the Navy, has shifted publication responsibility from the Naval History and Heritage Command to N 88, Director of Air Warfare as of 1 January 2010. The new publishers are seeking inputs from all hands to help shape the development of your magazine. Should Nav Air News become an on-line publication distributed via email and the Web or should it remain in its traditional format “as is?” For your information The Hook magazine is patterned after the Nav Air News format. Please email your recommendation to nae@navy.mil using the message header “NANEWS WAY AHEAD” no later than 8 January 2010. We all should strive to keep this important asset alive and well to promote Naval Avaition.

Dear Tailhookers,

I am writing to ask for your support of the Tailhook Educational Foundation. The Foundation is the charitable nonprofit arm of The Tailhook Association, with the primary mission of providing annual educational scholarships to children and grandchildren of present and past carrier aviation personnel.

Our yearly appeal is well underway and we here at the Foundation look forward to your continued support as we grow our endowment. Your tax-deductible contributions may continue to be made via mail and our website.

I hope you choose to support the Tailhook Educational Foundation. To donate on line, visit at our web site at: https://tailhook.net/Foundation.html, or mail your donations to the address below.

We are very proud and honored to have awarded 87 scholarships this year. We had 300 plus applications and could have easily awarded another 75 scholarships to an equally qualified group. We look forward to an even more robust future founded on your continued support.
